Cordova also seems to be the final resting place for all things two wheeled, steel & heavy. With a majority of the population completely oblivious to the advancements of the bicycle industry over the past 2 decades, or any thought as to why these advancments have even been made. Its been frustrating to say the least...

When I left town in ‘01 the city council & the harbor dept. were debating whether or not to get into the travel lift business. From the looks of this the idea must have passed. While talking about this to a couple residents one said that the costs of such an operation would prevent the lift itself from actually making any kind of profit for a very long time. The other individual pointed out that although the lift itself didn’t make any money there were many people working on several boats blocked up on the beach. All buying parts and services from different entities in town thus creating sales tax revenue. A small amount of money but a source of revenue none the less. Ironically these differing view points came from two people that are married too each other, go figure…
