A group of fifth graders look on as 100,000 Coho Salmon ‘fry’ are released into holding pens near Hippie Cove. Considered to be more of a fish ’ranch’ than farm this project is run by PWSAC. Salmon always return to where they were raised, by letting these salmon grow and adjust to these waters and then releasing them into the ocean (about 60 yrds away) in a month or so they will return as adults in 3 or 4 years for the local anglers to enjoy.

You might be ‘book smarter’ than these fifth graders but remember most of these kids can give Bear Grylls a good run for his money.
